Local Queen Creek Businesses
Despite these challenging economic times, Chick-fil-A continues to expand and is excited to open a new stand-alone Chick-fil-A restaurant in Queen Creek at 20455 E. Rittenhouse Road on October 8. Not only are we giving away more than $26,000 in free food, the new location brings with it approximately 65 new jobs. Chick-fil-A was just named Best Drive-Thru in America by QSR magazine for the sixth time - - released today. We will also be celebrating the sixth anniversary of the First 100 contest that started right there in the Phoenix area at the October 2003 opening of the Chick-fil-A in Goodyear and has grown ever since. Chick-fil-A raving fans usually arrive more than 25 hours in advance of an opening, carrying tents, lawn chairs, computers, TVs, couches and all kinds of other gear to make their wait more comfortable and entertaining. Some travel across the country to openings and have great stories to share. Wednesday takes on a tailgate type atmosphere with games, food and music - - very visual and lots of fun. Please let Queen Creek residents know about the contest early on because it fills up quickly. Sometimes 100 people are already at the new store Wednesday morning ready to be part of the First 100 until Thursday’s opening. Chick-fil-A will award a one-year supply of free Chick-fil-A Meals (52 certificates) to each of the first 100 adults in line, age 18 and older with identification, at the restaurant located at 20455 E. Rittenhouse Rd. in Queen Creek. The line officially begins forming up to 24 hours before the grand opening with the prizes being awarded Thursday, Oct. 8, sometime between 6 a.m. and 6:15 a.m. The restaurant will open for business immediately thereafter. In the event that there are more than 100 people by 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7, all 100 spots will be determined by a raffle. See www.chick-fil-a.com/#insidersfirst100 for complete rules. |

DeLanee's Story Five years ago, Becky and Tommy Norris, were blessed to be pregnant with their second child. Shortly thereafter they learned that they were going to be parents to a little girl, but the probability of their daughter living for very long was extremely low. Their daughter was diagnosed with a condition called Dandy-Walker Cyst. The doctors believed that the Norris’ baby would deteriorate and pass away during pregnancy, but much to their surprise DeLanee developed until 28 weeks gestation when she was delivered and lived for three hours. As you can imagine, these 3 hours was precious time that they spent as a family with their daughter taking pictures, bathing, dressing and holding her until she passed away in their arms. Upon DeLanee's passing, the nurses brought the Norris family a box to put their daughter’s belongings in to take home with them. Because DeLanee was born in January the nurses were able to find a leftover Christmas box. That Christmas box became extremely special to the Norris family and they clung to it and the contents inside that held their daughter’s precious belongings as they left the hospital without their baby. It was because of this box that the inspiration for Lanee’s Legacy began. . . http://laneeslegacy.blogspot.com |

Well, I guess we are a real town now. The new McDonald's just opened. I took the kids after church on Sunday to offically open the place. I wish they would have built a children's play center, but they didn't. Kind of a funky layout to the parking lot, too. The Big Mac sure tasted good, though.. I still remember when all we had was the QC Cafe and Rudy's. |
